What we promise, what we ask.

This page is the agreement between SecretGarden ("we") and anyone who books our photography, decoration, or atelier services ("you"). Written in plain language because legalese rarely makes good vows.

01Booking & deposit · 预约与定金

• A booking is confirmed only after both sides sign a short written agreement and a 30% deposit is received.
• Until then, the date you wrote about stays tentative — we may release it if another couple confirms first.
• Deposit is non-refundable, except in the cases described in §03.

02Final payment · 尾款

• The remaining 70% is due 14 days before the wedding date.
• For destination weddings, travel costs are quoted separately and billed at cost — no markup.

03Postponement, illness, force majeure · 改期

Weddings get postponed. We understand. If you need to move the date, we will hold your deposit and apply it to a new date within 18 months at no extra charge, subject to availability. If neither party can perform the contract due to force majeure (illness, government order, natural disaster), neither party owes the other beyond reasonable expenses already incurred.

04Cancellation · 取消

• More than 90 days before: deposit retained, no further charge.
• 30–90 days before: 50% of total fee.
• Less than 30 days: 100% of total fee.

These percentages reflect actual costs we incur — turning down other couples for your date, planning time already spent.

05What we deliver · 交付

• Edited photographs and (if booked) cinematic film within the timeline stated on services.html.
• Heirloom album within 14 weeks of final image approval.
• Decoration setup on the day, with a florist on-site from setup to teardown.
• Atelier orders ship within their stated production window.

06Photographs & usage · 照片版权

• Copyright of all photographs remains with SecretGarden.
• You receive an unlimited personal-use licence — print, share, hang, send to family forever.
• We may use selected images for portfolio, journal, social media — only after you sign a brief release. If you decline the release at booking, we will never publish any image from your wedding.
• Commercial resale or licensing of images by you requires written permission.

07Privacy · 隐私

How we treat your personal information is described in detail on the Privacy page.

08Liability · 责任

We are a small studio and we work hard to plan, back up, and double-up our gear. In the rare event that equipment fails, files are lost, or a service cannot be performed — our liability is limited to refund of the amount you paid for the affected portion. We carry professional indemnity insurance for larger events.

09Decoration on-site behaviour · 现场

For decoration services, we ask the venue to provide reasonable access and protection from damage. If a guest, a child, or a pet damages installed pieces, replacement is at the couple's cost.

10Jurisdiction · 适用法律

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Any dispute first goes to mediation; only if mediation fails do we escalate to Taipei District Court.

11Updates · 条款更新

If we change these terms, we will email anyone with an active booking 30 days in advance. Existing bookings remain governed by the terms in force when they were signed.

If anything here feels off, write to us — many of our clients have asked for small custom edits to the agreement, and almost all of them got accepted. This is meant to be a kind document.
